Google Meet: Student Recommendations


Article Goal – Google Meet (Student Recommendations)

Article Audience – Public

Some student Chromebooks may have a hard time keeping up with the system requirements of Google Meet’s newest features.  To help give Meet as many resources as possible, we are recommending the following:
  1. Close any tabs other than Google Meet while in a Meet session
  1. Use the “Spotlight View” for Student Chromebooks
  1. Make sure the device is up to date (check for updates before starting the Meet session)
  1. Keep the camera off (unless required)
  1. Keep the microphone off (unless required)
  1. Do not connect a to an external monitor while using Google Meet
  1. At the end of the day, when classwork is done, please shut down the Chromebook(instead of just closing the lid). This will apply any pending updates
